Big Game Drives expand the safari experience by taking guests into different reserve environments, where the landscape shifts and the chances of seeing lions and elephants increase.

For many guests, this experience helps complete the Big Five journey while adding another layer of diversity to the week.

Unlike daily game drives on Hippo Lakes property, Big Game Drives take place in neighboring reserves. Once there, guests explore a new setting with different wildlife patterns, terrain, and viewing opportunities.

Highlights often include lions, elephants, and other large game not typically seen on the Hippo Lakes reserve itself.

Guests can expect extended drive time, a different reserve environment, and stronger chances of seeing lions and elephants. It’s a broader look at the wildlife of the Waterberg region as a whole.
